I have an MFA in Writing from the University of San Francisco and an MA in Teaching from Westminster College. In July 2022, I left a long career in education and my home in Santa Cruz, CA, to travel the U.S. and Canada with my adventure cat and my Subaru. After 3 months and 11,000 miles, we landed in New England where we intend to eventually make a home, but for now our regional travels and inner explorations continue through house sits and camping when weather allows. I am working on a novel, Shelterwood, inspired by my childhood on a commune in the redwoods.

“You write in order to change the world, knowing perfectly well that you probably can’t, but also knowing that literature is indispensable to the world. In some way, your aspirations and concern for a single man in fact do begin to change the world. The world changes according to the way people see it, and if you alter, even by a millimeter, the way a person looks or people look at reality, then you can change it.”
James Baldwin
